Caleb Cain Marcus is a New York City–based photographer born at the base of a fourteen thousand foot peak in Colorado.
Cain Marcus’ work defines and describes the physicality of space among living things by using color and contrast to
construct space that can be felt, experienced and observed. The resulting images establish a sense of wonder and re-enchantment.
The works Goddess (2015), A Portrait of Ice (2012), and The Silent Aftermath of Space (2010) are linked together by their investigation of the nature of space in varied subjects; the Ganges River, Glaciers and New York City. The outcomes of this enquiry are three photographic studies of space.
Public collections include; J. Paul Getty Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston and High
Museum of Art, Atlanta. He received an MFA from Columbia University.
